What is Past Life Regression?
Past life regression is a hypnosis technique to recover memories, scenes, and feelings of past lives. A deeply relaxed state allows access to subconscious memories in order to discover roots of skills, relationships, problems, attitudes or other life patterns that may have influence in the present life. Some experience this very vivid and emotional recall in full detail, as if they are watching a movie, while others may have an intuitive knowing without the emotion and imagery. Some see a ‘snapshot’ of events and then the emotions and details fill in as if they were looking at a photo album. All ways are valid and vary from person to person. Past life regression works with the body, mind, emotions and spirit, to discover the root causes of problems, challenges or positive circumstances, which may cause limitations or benefits in the present. What is a session like?
Past life regression sessions are about two hours long. Progressive and guided deep relaxation enables you to access important subconscious memories with an intense inward focus. The purpose of a past life regression is to explore a significant lifetime which relates to your current life situation. This specific past life is explored in detail. The discovery process may reveal your life’s purpose, your choices in this lifetime with regard to relationships and the reasons you continue to make certain choices, affirming or not. Oftentimes people feel they are “making up” the past life memories. As you become more comfortable with the process, you will discover that this information is valuable and authentic and contributes to your healing and well-being. People do have spontaneous flashbacks, as well. This may be triggered by meeting someone new or an event, such as visiting a place where one has lived in a past life. ”I feel as if I know this person but have just met them.” or “I know details of this place even though I’ve never been here before!” are common statements. Past life memories may also appear in dreams or during meditation.
What if I can’t relax and recall my past lives?
Most people are able to experience a state of wakeful relaxation that is necessary to recall past lives. Many clients succeed in the first session; others may need more than one session to fully relax and experience past-life recall. Some relax more deeply than others and have a more vivid and detailed recall. Others may greatly benefit just from the relaxation process at first as they gain trust in themselves and their ability to recall past lives. Your body, mind, and spirit will guide you to proceed at your own pace.
How will I feel after a session?
Some people feel very happy and peaceful; others may feel tired. All of these reactions are normal. It’s best to schedule your appointment at a time when you can take the rest of the day off. Most people prefer to be alone afterwards to integrate and review the session. You may want to rest, take a relaxing walk, or journal any notes or reflections from the experience. You may continue to have past life recall after the session through dreams or intuitive insights that will give you even more detailed memory of that life.
Life Between Lives Regression
How is a Life Between Lives (LBL)® Regression different than Past Life Regression?
An LBL Regression goes further beyond any Past Life Regression. Although one past life is explored at the beginning of the session, you use the past life as a springboard to the spirit world to connect with your “soul mind” or super-consciousness and enter into the supportive realm of the Spirit World. You may be met initially by one or more souls that will work with you and support you. Depending upon your current needs and circumstances, they will work to guide you through several facets of the spirit world.
What is the purpose of an LBL Regression?
Once you are connected with your soul-mind, you have the opportunity to meet and communicate with your personal Spirit Guides, Soul Group Members and even your assigned Council of Elders who have been helping you structure your earthly incarnations for maximum growth. This allows you to gain a better understanding of your purpose in your current life and whether your incarnation is going “according to plan.” You may gain a greater perspective as to why you chose your family and significant relationships as well as the body that you now inhabit. You may become aware of your greater purpose in this life. If you are already sure of your purpose, you may be surprised by your renewed commitment to it with understanding and excitement.
Will I remember what happens in my LBL Regression?
The LBL sessions are recorded so that you can fully relax and enjoy the experience as it unfolds. Most clients do recall all that occurred during their session and, in fact, are given a hypnotic suggestion to remember everything clearly. This allows you to review and analyze your past life and between lives journey at your convenience later.
Will an LBL Regression help me solve problems and make changes in my present life?
As long as you have the willingness to change, all hypnosis and regressions are highly effective in order to bring about change in your present life. If permitted, your immortal self, leads the way to understanding and healing. You will have the opportunity to ask questions throughout your journey. Will I need more than one session?
A single LBL Regression normally promotes lasting positive changes in one’s life, much like a Past Life Regression. Some effects are profound and immediate while other need time to unfold. No two sessions are exactly alike. However, this doesn’t preclude you from experiencing another LBL at a later date.
Should I read Dr. Newton’s books before having my LBL Regression?
While it is certainly not a prerequisite to read Dr. Newton’s books before a session, it may help you to understand what your session will entail. These books represent his work with over 7,000 LBL Regression clients, spanning over 30 years of intense pioneering research, compiling the most recurrent themes and data. Many possible aspects of the journey are noted and explained in some detail through case histories. Some clients prefer not to read the books beforehand so that the experience will be “pure” without any expectations. Whether you read them before or after your session, you will be amazed by the remarkable consistency of what is reported by clients during LBL Regressions regardless of their religion, philosophical orientation, or nationality.
What is hypnosis? Are you asleep?
Generally people imagine a dark, mysterious, sometimes sinister figure from movies, or television waving a pocket watch back and forth, when they hear the word hypnosis. Unsuspecting victims are induced into a zombie-like state, and once hypnotized; the subject is under the hypnotist’s control. Thankfully this theatrical rendition bears little resemblance to actual hypnotherapy practiced today. Our understanding of hypnosis has advanced a great deal in the past century. A person under hypnosis is not asleep, but has heightened inward focus and concentration with the ability to access the subconscious mind in order to create change and focus intensely on a specific thought or memory, while blocking out sources of distraction. Subjects in a hypnotic state have absolute free will. They’re not really in a sleep state but actually hyper- attentive. The power of the subconscious mind is truly awe inspiring. It not only houses our emotional energy but our long term memory as well. It is the core of how we experience ourselves and the world. It is the part of us that has been described as permanent memory. It is like a computer that holds thousands and thousands of bits of information of your entire life, and in fact many lives. It holds every relationship, event, scene, situation, perception in your life. It is the core of how we experience ourselves in the world.
How can Hypnosis help?
Because hypnotherapy seeks the underlying emotional and energetic blockages, it gets to the core of a myriad of problems, whether these blocks were created in childhood or a week ago. The cause of the problem is released at its root or origin focusing on identifying and resolving the cause, therefore releasing negative symptoms and creating positive change. Hypnosis is trans-personal and client centered. This means every session is tailored to the individual needs and designed to meet the desired goals of the client. Conventional psychotherapy focuses on the present life and may not be able to get to the source of a problem. “Talk” therapy often stays on an intellectual basis and does not allow for the transformation that comes from unlocking deep emotions and experiences stored in one’s unconscious memory. It’s also why “talk” therapy often takes so long to produce results. Hypnosis can speed up the healing process as one understands and feels on a much deeper level the source of one’s problems.
Can everyone be Hypnotized?
Yes, provided one has the normal physiological and psychological functioning and therefore the ability to concentrate and relax. As long as a client is willing, they can undergo hypnosis. There is a positive correlation between one’s willingness to relax and concentrate and the ability to undergo hypnosis.
A qualified clinical hypnotherapist has the capabilities to help alleviate or transform a multitude of symptoms and problems. For instance, hypnosis can eliminate phobias and fears like fear of animals such as cats and dogs or the fear of flying. It can also enhance positive changes like public speaking, test taking, and study skills. People have been helped to quit smoking, release weight and achieve a number of goals.
Is Hypnosis safe?
A person cannot be hypnotized against their will. As a general rule, if a client were given a suggestion he or she did not agree with, they would simply refuse, laugh at it or regain normal awareness. During hypnosis, the client can choose to accept or reject any suggestions given. No one has ever been hurt by going into a state of hypnosis. Not only is hypnosis safe, it is effective, drug-free, pain-free, expedient and cost-effective. Hypnosis was used by combat physicians during World War II to treat battle trauma. It was accepted by the British Medical Association in 1955 as a valuable medical tool. The Mayo Clinic has used this safe, non-intrusive healing method as an adjunct to more conventional medical treatment. The National Institute of Health ruled hypnosis as an effective intervention for the alleviation of pain from cancer and other chronic conditions. Hypnosis carries few, if any, risks. Individuals with certain medical problems, or who are actively abusing drugs or alcohol, or who are delusional or hallucinatory should seek more appropriate treatment. A doctor’s referral is required for certain medical conditions. Probably the greatest risk is failing to recognize that hypnosis is not magic. Although highly effective, it is not a cure-all. Hypnosis can be effective with many issues, but it still requires conscious effort and a willingness to change.
How many sessions will I need?
Your problem is uniquely your own, so is your solution. The number of sessions required really depends on the complexity of the issue and your ability to participate fully in the healing process. Most people notice an immediate shift, even after the first session. Commonly there is a progressive shift for the better in how you think and feel – mentally, physically, and emotionally. These positive shifts are often subtle and pervasive as they ripple out into every area of your life.
Can memories be erased in Hypnosis?
A certified Hypnotherapist can help a person transform a memory, not by erasing the memory but by releasing the emotional triggers and re-framing the event, which has been causing problems. The mind contains unconscious memories, which generally are responsible for our decisions, attitudes, feelings, and behaviors.
Can a person get stuck in Hypnosis? Can I be controlled?
Even if the therapist could not finish the session after putting the client under deep hypnosis, the client should come out easily, simply by opening their eyes and getting up from the chair. The client is always aware of everything going on around them and always is total control.
